PoseNap privacy

Your data.
Clearly explained.

What the app processes, what stays on your iPhone, and what happens when you contact us.

Last updated: October 29, 2026

At a glance: camera frames are processed on your iPhone and discarded — video is never saved or uploaded. PoseNap keeps numbers (measurements, posture timelines, and skeleton coordinates for its replay view) plus short sound clips from Nap Tests, all stored only in the app on your iPhone. PoseNap has no account system and no servers, sends nothing to us or to any third party, and includes no advertising or analytics.

1. Camera and microphone processing

PoseNap uses the camera, with your permission, to estimate body pose during Pillow Fit Checks and Nap Tests: which posture you are in, how your head and neck sit, and when you turn. This computer-vision processing takes place entirely on your iPhone using Apple's on-device frameworks. Frames are held in memory only long enough to measure them and are then discarded; PoseNap does not save or upload photos or video.

During Nap Tests, PoseNap uses the microphone, with your permission, to classify sounds on-device — principally snoring and other sounds — and to time how long each lasts. Short sound clips from a Nap Test are kept with that test's record, on your iPhone, so you can play them back from the report. Spoken guidance during tests is speech generated by the app; the app does not record or transcribe your speech.

You can revoke camera or microphone access in iPhone Settings. Tests will not work while the access they need is disabled.

2. What stays on your iPhone

The app saves local records and preferences so that you can review History, replay a Nap Test's skeleton view, and compare pillows. Records may include:

  • Test type, date, planned and actual duration, and the pillow name you entered.
  • Posture timelines in 30-second steps, turn counts, usable and unknown time, and neck-position readings for each posture.
  • Sound summaries (for example, snoring minutes) and the short sound clips described above.
  • Skeleton replay data: body-joint positions stored as numbers, sampled about twice per second, with no images.
  • Your morning check-in answers (how rested you feel, and neck and shoulder stiffness), when you choose to save them.
  • Measurement thresholds, calibration results, and app preferences.

Records are stored in the app's local storage on your iPhone. PoseNap does not operate a user account service or store your records on a developer-operated server, and records are not synchronized to any cloud service by the app.

3. On-device analysis

Every number and sentence in a PoseNap report is produced by deterministic code running on your iPhone. PoseNap does not use cloud AI services, does not send measurements anywhere for analysis, and works fully offline. No internet connection is needed to run a test, view a report, or replay a test.

4. Retention, deletion, and backups

Local records remain on your iPhone until you remove them. You can delete an individual test in History — deleting a Nap Test also removes its replay data and sound clips — or use Delete all data in Settings to remove everything. Deleting the app removes its local app data; offloading the app may retain data.

Local app data may be included in iCloud or computer backups managed by iOS. PoseNap does not control those backups. Deleting records in the app does not erase earlier backups. Use Apple's backup settings to manage those copies.

5. Exporting and sharing that you choose

From Settings you can export your records as files (spreadsheets of measurements and a full data file, including replay data) through the iOS share sheet. The app creates these files only when you ask, and sends them only where you direct the share sheet.

The destination app or person you select receives the exported content. Their handling of it is governed by their own policies. Deleting the original record does not delete files that have already been exported or shared.

6. Support email

If you email shelfsense.ai.inc@gmail.com, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to include. We use this information to respond to your request and investigate the issue you report. Support mail is handled through Gmail.

Support correspondence is retained as needed to handle and follow up on your request. You can ask for deletion by contacting the same address. Please avoid sending unnecessary personal or sensitive information. We cannot remotely retrieve or delete records that exist only on your iPhone.
